Method of Application

application
Installing the fibre board
The fibre board is an Isover product, produced in Sweden for our purpose. It has a thickness of 30mm and a density of 125kg/m3. The 1200mm x 2400mm sheets can be applied directly to the substrate as seen here or to an MF ceiling structure. Mechanical fixings, adhesive or a combination of the two are used. When fixed, the surface of the board is prepared ready to take the plaster. Large radius ceilings can be accomodated either convex or concave.

spraying
Spraying
The Terraco acoustic plaster is sprayed directly on to the prepared fibre board in two coats, each of 1-2mm depth. drying time is dependent on ambient temperatures, but normally one day is sufficient between coats. Most pastel colours can be added during the spray cycle, but the application of colour limits the finish to that of textured.

complete
Finished System
The finished surface can be textured (shown here) or sanded (see below). The entire surface is seemless and no expansion joints are required. Colours can be introduced to the textured finish only.

sanded finish
Sanding
Following the application of two coats of the acoustic plaster, an optional smooth finish is achieved with sanding. Both finishes give a seemless acoustically absorbent surface.
