The Board

David Wheatley
David Wheatley, Chairman
David was a founding member of the business in the late 1960's and was Managing Director for some forty years. Over this period he has seen and managed many changes within the construction industry. With his active interest in people development, Pacy & Wheatley were one of the first construction companies in the UK to be accredited with the Investors in People standard. David's hobbies include sailing, cycling, skiing and more recently golf and gardening, but he still has time to be actively involved in the business.

Anthony Wheatley
Anthony Wheatley, Managing Director
Anthony started his career with Pacy and Wheatley at an early age, during the school summer holidays. Working predominantly within the company's own joinery workshop, machining and assembling doors and windows together with labouring duties on site. During this time he obtained a good grounding in aspects of the industry and ultimately decided on his career path. After studying at Trent Polytechnic for three years, successfully gaining an HND in Building Studies, he continued his industry placement with Norwest Holst as a Site Engineer. In 1993 Anthony then made the move to P&W as a Contract Coordinator and progressed to Estimator, with other responsibilities in company accounts, planning and estimating functions. He gained his Directorship in 1996 and promoted to Managing Director in 2006. Anthony is a keen sailor, keeps fit at the local gym, plays tennis and is married with two children.

Craig Wheatley
Craig Wheatley, Director
Craig came to the company at the age of 18, following earlier years as an apprentice carpenter where he received a City and Guilds Accreditation. He worked onsite as a joiner and very quickly became interested in all aspects of construction. He later became a site manager, supervising substantial projects. He moved to head office in 2004 as a project manager with a number of large schemes being completed successfully.
Craig received his Directorship in 2005 and is highly respected among all employees, being a problem solver and 'hands on' type of person. Personal interests include sailing with the Enterprise Class Association, where he won Junior National Sailing Championship. He continues to do exceptionally well in National and Worldwide Enterprise class Championships. Craig is also a keen golfer.

Paul Coleman
Paul Coleman, Director
Paul joined Pacy and Wheatley as a trainee surveyor in 1994 after attending college where he gained an OND in Construction. In 1996 Paul became the Assistant Contracts Coordinator and successfully completed an HNC in Building Studies. After quickly accelerating his knowledge in construction he progressed to Senior Project Manager in 2000 with Quantity Surveying and Contractual Responsibilities. Paul received his Directorship in 2000 and was bestowed the duty of Company Secretary in 2005. Paul is married and proud father of a young son Evan.

Tony Abbott
Tony Abbott, Sales & Marketing Executive
Tony came to the company in 2004. Following a Royal Air Force apprenticeship and subsequent service he entered civilian life as an electronics engineer within the music industry. Immediately prior to joining the company he had served 30 years in retail sales management. Sports including skiing, and flying a Piper PA28 from Sheffield Aero Club. He is also an active member of Bawtry Amateur Dramatic Society.

Jeremy Thorn
Jeremy Thorn, Board Adviser
Jeremy is a Charted Engineer and professional board adviser, with a special interest in facilitating his clients' business strategy, their external customer focus and internal organisational development. He is the founding Director and now President of QED Consulting, past Managing Director of Bridon International and an experienced Non-Executive Director of several fast-growing, technically-demanding businesses. In his spare time, he is a prolific international public speaker and writer on business matters, a keen amateur musician and linguist, and a past Yorkshire Sabre Champion.

Geoff Dixon
Geoff Dixon, Board Adviser
Geoff is an experienced logistician and professional board adviser, with a strong background in general management, distribution and finance. With specific skills in problem solving, cost reduction and company reorganisation, Geoff worked for the Bridon Group for over 40 years in financial, distribution and logistics roles at their head office and other locations in Europe. He left the Bridon Group in 1998 to set up his own company, Business Analytical Services Limited.
